In mid-May Danielle visited! Danielle was my 9th, and final visitor from the States. We had a good time exploring Samana and my town - hiking and riding horseback to the El Limon waterfall, visiting the beach, meeting my school, and spending time with my family in Mao. We also made a few discoveries on this trip - that if I talk to the right people, I can reserve bus seats for us hours and even days before we travel (bus trips not pictured), and we also stumbled upon a massive toad (toad pictured). Though I had visited these sites before, we still found a lot of new places in Las Terrenas to explore - a great outdoor dance place where we danced bachata and merengue (check out the video!) on the beach. And finally we also now know of Danielle’s taste for Dominican food. (FYI - She loves it). It was a great visit, and another example of how lucky I have been to have such wonderful friends that make the trip down here. It is definitely a blessing to be able to share my Peace Corps experience with people from home so thank you to those who have kept in touch, and visited. Two years is long (though it never seemed like it to me) and I’ll always be thankful that I had such supportive friends and family during this time. Anyway, enjoy the pictures!
